Both cables support audio to HDMI devices, but I hesitated to buy one of them after seeing this warning:

Note: *Support for audio up to 5.1 channel is compatible with MacBook (Late 2010 release), MacBook Pro 13/15/17 inch (Mid 2010 release), iMac 21.5/27 inch, MacBook Air 11/13 inch (Mid 2010 release), Mac Mini and Mac Pro (Mid 2010 release).

This warning does not mention about 2011 thunderbolt models, and I am using Macbook Pro released in early 2011… It might be silly to worry about this kind of things, but the cables are quite expensive.

Anyway, the bottom line is that they work with 2011 models, and they may work with 2012 models as well. All you need to do is connecting a cable/adapter to thunderbolt port and setting sound (System Preferences > Sound) as below:

Then you can here sound from your HDMI device. Note that you cannot control volume with Mac when sound is set to HDMI output.

Logic Pro 9 is available for $199

Apple released Logic Pro 9 to Mac App Store for $199.99.
